The Samsung Eternity (aka the SGH-A867) offers a vibrant touch screen, a sleek design, and multimedia features. It is a solid multimedia device but, worker bees needing strong data features will be disappointed. The touch interface is responsive and easy to use, though you can adjust the calibration if you have problems. Unfortunately, the Eternity doesn’t offer a flash or a self-portrait mirror. The full HTML browser is similar to the Behold and the Instinct. The camera menus are simple and easy to use. Photo quality on the Eternity is quite good.

RIM’s BlackBerry Bold smartphone is a powerful device with a lot of storage, rich multimedia capabilities and excellent audio. But the BlackBerry Bold disappoints in several areas and, in a highly competitive smartphone space, falls behind other devices, such as the Apple iPhone and the Android-based T1 smartphone from T-Mobile and Google. Although the device doesn’t deliver up to its full promise it’s sound capabilities match the video, as the device produces excellent audio using either the twin, built-in speakers or a headset.
